Mental Wellness: You are not Alone

One in every 8 people in the world live with mental health disorders which impact their emotional and mental health and wellbeing, and social and occupational functioning. Life events like work and relationship stress, trauma, illness, and our social environments all impact mental health.

Effective prevention and treatment options exist. Psychologists apply scientific evidence and knowledge to work with clients to restore, and optimise mental wellbeing.

OUR APPROACH

Cynthia applies an integrated strategic psychotherapeutic approach, drawing from a wide scientific evidence base of psychological approaches, to meet your needs as a client, including cognitive behavioural; dialectical behavioural; mindfulness-based therapy; narrative therapy; compassion focused therapy; systems and psychodynamic approaches.

We work systemically to understand your life context. We are interested in how you perceive and think about your relationships, life, and circumstances, and how these perspectives influence your thoughts, emotions, decisions, behaviours, and relationships.

We understand that mental health distress and change can be difficult and we maintain a practical approach to supporting you as a client in finding solutions, developing strategies, and gaining new perspectives on problems. Our starting point is always your unique needs as a client. We work in a solution-focused way, to assist you in relieving distress and actualising your needs.

As a first step in the process, we offer a 15 minute initial video consult at no charge to understand your needs and goals, and discuss how best you can meet these.

Together, we define and agree the objectives of the therapy and the outcomes you would like to achieve, as well as the number of psychotherapy sessions required to work on your goals.

Consultations are available in-person (depending on your location) or online using data secure and confidential video platforms.

We are registered as a service provider with all the major UK and SA health insurance providers.
